FAQs

Neck & Cervical Pain questions

Answers to the questions patients ask most about this condition and its treatment.

Why does my neck hurt so much from desk work?

Long hours looking down at a screen or phone load the neck muscles and joints, leading to stiffness, muscle fatigue and what is often called 'tech neck'. Physiotherapy addresses both the symptoms and the posture and ergonomics driving them, so relief lasts.

Can physiotherapy help neck pain that goes into my arm?

Yes. Pain radiating into the arm often points to nerve irritation in the cervical spine. We assess the nerve, use mobilisation and specific exercises to reduce the irritation, and strengthen the supporting muscles. Most patients improve well with conservative care.

Are neck cracking sounds dangerous?

Painless clicking or cracking during movement is usually harmless and very common. If it comes with pain, dizziness or arm symptoms, it is worth having it assessed so we can address the underlying cause.

How can I prevent neck pain from coming back?

Regular movement breaks, a well-set-up workstation, sleeping with supportive pillow height, and the strengthening exercises we prescribe all help. We build these habits into your plan so the improvement is sustainable.
